Our competent swimmers squad train twice a week during the Spring/Summer terms. Tuesday is a straight squad training night, with a focus on fitness and technique.
Race nights are on alternate Thursday nights. The object of race nights is for children to improve on their own personal times. We record these times and at the end of each season, we print out their own individual results.
Each second Thursday we do some swim training, teach tumble turns, diving, snorkelling, waterpolo techniques and enjoy water fun.
During the Autumn/Winter our squad trains on the Tuesday only.
(Fees are determined at the start of each term and may vary depending on number of weeks in the term, etc.)
Note, for starting squad training, swimmers normally are comfortable swimming lengths of the pool (33m) in freestyle and backstroke, and have started learning breaststroke and (possibly) butterfly.
The club is a non-profit organisation run by a committee of volunteers. Our fees cover the cost of pool hire and coaches. We're always looking out for swimmers or parents keen to help out, so if this sounds like you, please contact info@northcoteswim.org.nz
