About Northcote Swimming Club

Northcote Amateur Swimming Club has a long and proud history of swim coaching on the North Shore of Auckland.  Established over 45 years ago and based at Northcote College, the club provides a fantastic environment to develop young swimmers in our community.

We offer swimming coaching to children from 6-16 years of age, catering to all swim levels and abilities. (Children need to be happy being in the water before we can start lessons as we don't offer one-on-one coaching to help children who are afraid of the water, or who have never spent much time in water)

The focus of the club is to bridge the gap between commercial swimming schools and competitive swimming clubs. It is a non-profit community organisation that aims to provide swim coaching for the lowest cost it is able to. The club offers lessons for confident beginners through to squad training for more advanced swimmers.  It provides a fun and supportive environment where progress is recorded and celebrated.  Squad training focuses on stroke development, fitness and improving tumble turns and diving.  Activities are varied and fun, including race nights.

Club championships are held annually where squad swimmers have an opportunity to compete in age group levels for a vast array of cups and trophies.

We also offer adult lane swimming and/or swim coaching alongside our squad training if child numbers allow.
